Every August, communities across America come together to celebrate National Night Out. With a goal of making neighborhoods safer and increasing positive police-community relationships, communities have been marking National Night Out on the second Tuesdsay of August since 1984.
National Night Out can be a great opportunity to learn about community safety. Usually the event is marked with block parties, festivals, and safety demonstrations. We love attending our neighborhood's NNO each year, which usually includes bouncy houses, many local civic organizations, and the chance to check out a fire engine, ambulance, a sheriff's cruiser, and a real sheriff's motorcycle!

2024 National Night Out Events
Middleburg, VA, Tuesday, August 6 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Middleburg Community Center Ball Field
Enjoy free food including hot dogs and snowcones, a rock climbing wall and a moon bounce. There will be a give away for a bicycle!
South Riding, VA, Tuesday, August 6 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, South Riding Town Green
Sponsored by the South Riding Neighborhood Watch Committee, will feature local agencies. Stop by the Neighborhood Watch tent and thank them for putting on the event--there may be popsicles and a free giveaway!
Virginia Run, VA, Tuesday, August 6 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, James McDonnell Rec Center
