Fall and Halloween Events in Centreville, South Riding, and beyond!

Fall is finally here! It's time for festivals, trunk or treats, football games, and more. Let this serve as your guide for all of the community events happening this fall in Centreville, Clifton, Fairfax Station, South Riding, Aldie, Middleburg, and Catharpin.


Festivals 

Pumpkin Palooza at The Learning Experience, Aldie - We'll have arts and crafts, live music, pumpkin decorating, raffles, prizes, face painting, a tattoo artist and so much more! Saturday, October 12

Westfield Theatre's Halloween Festival - Join Westfield Theatre for their Halloween Festival! There will be games, activities, and meet and greets with your favorite princesses and pirates in the auditorium. This is great for all ages. Don't forget your costumes! Ages 12 and up can join us for an Escape Room in the Blackbox classroom! Saturday, October 19

Shining Bright Diwali Bash - Join Night Watch Pediatric Urgent Care for a FREE, fun-filled Diwali celebration with festive activities, health education, and treats to light up the season. Kids will enjoy in the festive vibes, flex their creativity with craft activities, delight in delicious Diwali desserts, and so much more! Learn about Diwali traditions and the services we offer at our pediatric urgent care. Saturday, October 19

Centreville Baptist Church Fall Festival - Join us for a fun evening of games, food, and lots of candy at our Fall Festival. There will be a trunk or treat, food trucks, inflatables, raffle prizes, and a great kids show on the lawn. Sunday, October 20

Halloween Carnival - Come to the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum and play Halloween-themed games and win tickets to enter into a prize raffle. Each child will receive 5 game tickets to start. You may purchase additional game tickets at 5 for $1.00 while they last. Costumes are optional but are encouraged. Don't forget a treat bag for your goodies! Sunday, October 27

Halloween at the Middleburg Community Center - Hot dog it's a spooky season feast! Gather your family, grab your costumes, and come celebrate. The event is free, but registration is required. Thursday, October 31


Trick or Treat and Trunk or Treat

Deer Park Elementary School Trunk-or-Treat - Join us for our free family friendly Fall Festival and Trunk-or-Treat! It's a party in the bus loop with music, crafts, food trucks, trunk-or-treat, a Pumpkin Moon Bounce, and more. Fairfax County Police Department will even join in on the fun! Costumes are encouraged but not required. Friday, October 18

Trick-or-Treat at South Riding Market Square - Join us for a FREE spooktacular Trick-or-Treat event at South Riding Market Square! šŸŽƒšŸ‘» Enjoy a candy crawl, live DJ, balloon artist, games, photo booth, and more! Bring your family and friends, collect sweet treats, and show off your best costumes. Don't miss out on this exciting Halloween celebration! Sunday, October 20

Haunted Hive at Henrietta Lacks and Hovatter Schools - Celebrate the Lacks and Hovatter communities with a b-spooky time! There will be food trucks, truck or treat, bounce houses, a photo booth, STEM activities, and more! Admission is free! Wednesday, October 23

Dulles South Trick or Treat Trail Join us in your Halloween finest to trick or treat on the Dulles South path, gather candy and prizes, and pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Registration ends at 5:00 PM Thursday, October 24th or until full. Must register in advance, no same day registration. This event will be outdoors, weather permitting. This event is for ages 2-12. Under 2 is free. Friday, October 25

Liberty Middle School Trunk or Treat - Join us for an evening of fun in the school parking lot! There will be candy for all. Two families will win prizes for participating! Don't forget your costumes, as there will a prize for the BEST student costume! Friday, October 25

Stone Ridge Trunk or Treat - šŸŽƒ Trunk or Treat: Get Ready for a Spooktacular Time! šŸŽƒ Join us for a fun-filled evening of Halloween festivities in a safe trick or treating experience. Saturday, October 26

Trunk or Treat at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church -It’s time for Trunk-or-Treat! Bring the kiddos for a safe, fun, and spooky—but not too spooky--afternoon! Folks will decorate their cars in a closed-off section of the parking lot and pass out sweet treats and allergy-free treats (look for the teal pumpkins!). Saturday, October 26

Christ Church Trunk or Treat - Join us for a FREE family-friendly event for your kids and the kid in you! Park in the front lot and come around back to check out the decorated trunks and collect sweet treats and goodies. While you're here, enjoy hot chocolate, hayrides, music, and of course candy! Saturday, October 26

Trunk or Treat at Primrose School of South Riding - Join us for a Spooktakular Trunk or Treat! There will be food, cotton candy, and lots of fun! Saturday, October 26

Trunk or Treat at Citizen Heights Dulles Campus - Join us for games, candy, photos ops, inflatables, and so much more! You're invited to join us for Trunk or Treat at our Dulles Campus October 27th at 6PM. Sunday, October 27

Halloween Celebration - It's an early Halloween celebration at the library! Break out the costumes, bring your candy bag for trick-or-treating, and participate in crafts, activities, games, and more. Wednesday, October 30

Trunk or Treat at Centreville Elementary School - Get ready for a fun-filled evening of trick-or-treating in a safe and festive environment. Participants can decorate their car trunks in creative and spooky themes; children can go from trunk to trunk collecting treats and goodies! We'll also have a costume contest for all ages as well as a prize for the most creative trunk. Don't miss out on this exciting community event that's sure to be a Halloween hit for everyone! Costumes are encouraged, and don't forget your candy bag! Wednesday, October 30


Craft Events and Pumpkin Decorating

Pumpkin Decorating at Middleburg Library - Come decorate a mini pumpkin to bring home or leave on display at the library. While supplies last. Thursday, October 10

Goblin Golf Extravaganza! - Come to Burke Lake Park for Halloween-themed treats, spooky fun, and mini-golf! Saturdays and Sundays through 10/20

Family Fright Movie Night - Hotel Transylvania - Enjoy a chill-inducing but family-friendly film! Light refreshments provided. Tuesday, October 8

STEM Night: Lost in Space - Come to Hal and Berni Hanson Park to learn about some of the dangerous things in space in this planetarium program. Remember, in space, no one can hear you scream, because sound waves do not travel in a vacuum. Register here for the 6:00 PM session and here for the 7:00 session. Saturday, October 12

Liberty Elementary School Monster Mash - October means time for the school dance and by popular demand the Monster Mash is back! Wear your not-so-scary costume and enjoy dancing, games, treats, and movies! We'll have a photo both to capture the memories! Friday, October 18

Scavenger Hunt: Monster Mash - Monsters are causing chaos at Middleburg Library! Help the staff by finding them. Once all the monsters have been found see a staff member for a prize. October 15 - 31

DIY Teens: Treat Boxes - Celebrate the spooky season by making a treat box. Fill it with ghoulish goodies to take home or share. Tuesday, October 15

Family Fright Movie Night - Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! - Enjoy a chill-inducing but family-friendly film! Light refreshments provided. Tuesday, October 15

Scavenger Hunt: Halloween Party Guests - Mummy is throwing a Halloween party and wants to invite his friends! Can you visit all of their houses to give them an invite? Stop by the children's desk to pick up your sheet. October 21 - 27

Leaf an Imprint on Autumn - Explore nature printing with fall foliage while creating beautiful coasters. Presented by the Oak Spring Garden Foundation. Tuesday, October 22

Hanson Halloween Hunt - Hanson Park has been overrun by pumpkins! Find them all and you can collect the prize! The scavenger hunt will run from Tuesday, October 25 until Saturday, October 31. You must register for a timeslot listed below to get a scavenger hunt from the Hanson Park Nature Center. Friday, October 25; Saturday, October 26; Tuesday, October 29; Wednesday, October 30; Thursday, October 31

Halloween Weekend at Bull Run Campground - Enjoy camping during Halloween Weekend at Bull Run Campground! Go trick or treating, watch an outdoor movie, hike the haunted trail, a site decorating contest, create a gourmet s'mores bar, and more! You must be a registered camper to attend. Friday, October 25 - Saturday, October 26

Harvest Market at Willowsford Farm Stand - Join us for the last Farm Stand market of the season at Willowsford Farm and the 2nd Annual Harvest Market! We will have a Native Plant Sale, Farm Tour Wagon Rides, a Makers Market, Kids' Makers Corner, activities for children, a food truck, and more! Plus our Farm Stand will be selling seasonal organic veggies and eggs from our Farm as well as local meat, cheese, fruit, and more from our farm partners. Saturday, October 26

Ghost Town - Come to Burke Lake Park for the most fun, no scares celebration! There will be themed activity areas, a train ride, carousel ride, crafts, bounce house, and mini golf. Most importantly--no scares, all treats! Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27

Halloween Spooktacular - It’s a scary good time as the parade marches from South Riding Golf Club to Town Green. There will be games, a magician, and, of course, candy. Stay for a Halloween movie! Saturday, October 26

DIY Teens: Ghost Key Chains - Celebrate spooky season by making your own haunted key chain. Tuesday, October 29

Stone Ridge Shocktoberfest - Enjoy family fun with live music, a Halloween costume contest for the kids, mobile axe throwing (for ages 13 and up), delicious food and refreshing beverages, plus much more! Free for Stone Ridge residents, $10 for non-residents/guests. Saturday, October 5
